Have you ever been scorned? Treated like “they” don’t want you there. They are looking down on you? Judging you? Treated like an outcast because of something you’ve done, a sin, bad/poor/foolish decision? A divorce, affair, relationship, action, non-action… you name it… done anything that “they” want to create emotional distress for you by keeping it alive?
Name calling, hints, alluding to your sin…
Treatment that, if they were the final say-so on your value and life, that you’d like to be invisible to them, move away, block them on your phones, put blinders on so you never have lay eyes on their cruel looks ever again?
They way they walk by you and turn their noses up and eyes down. The way they look away when you say something. They way they giggle.
That’s the devil at play to hurt you, I assure you, because good people don’t treat others that way.
Good people empathize and sympathize and build you up and help you out. God sends them because God believes you have incredible intrinsic value.
So, when the hurt flows, remember the source, repair yourself, stop the bad actions so you are actually blameless, create a hedge of good people around you, ignore the dark side and the people who are in league with its agenda for you.
The devil knows your sensitivities. His cronies have been watching you, observing you, learning you. The demons know what words hurt the most, and he sends in human workers and puppets to deliver those wounds.
Is he serious? They hurt more than stones and sticks. But words can never hurt you. My Dad would say that. Who was he kidding? Stones bruise the outside, but opinions of humans that you want to be “okay” with you … they get into your feelings and inner core. so, r
But then comes God. If we do life His “way” then there is less to criticize about, right? We have to admit, having an affair and being seen on Cold Play’s kissing cam is something God would disapprove of. But let me be clear. God disapproves of humans hurting other humans and judging and acting like there is no love left on earth and that sinners are damned by humanity.
Just judging sets you up to be judged by God in the same way.
Better to pray for the sinner, admonish privately and quietly… hey, I care about you, really I do, and I’m not judging. I want to mention that what you are doing is not the right “way” for humans and it will hurt in some way… maybe devastate, maybe make you scorned by the arrogant perfect people out there who use your sin to justify their godless lives…
So, always circle back to God and remember He values you because you are HIS CREATION, His spiritual child, His beloved, and He wants you in Heaven someday forever and He forgives you and wants you to live your life in a good way that He’s outlined, and grieves your feelings are being hurt…
Take hope in the Lord, Take hope in HIS love, and learn to look away and plug your ears and walk away and ignore the cat calls of the wicked.
That’s what I have to do every day. If they were the final word on my, I’d rather be dead, but since they aren’t, I’m going to look forward, walk forward in His way, and forgive myself, forgive others, focus on my OWN behavior, take admonishments to heart, not dead heart, and just get better every day. That takes guts in a world that is full of dark trolls who spend their moments hurting others…
Put them on God’s hook and keep walking forward, toward paradise.
